Lucy Alice Porter (Bucks Textiles & Surface Design Graduate 2011) selected as a finalist for the New Design Britain Awards


Lucy Alice Porter (Surface Design 2011) has been selected as a finalist in two categories for the New Design Britain Awards, sponsored by United Business Media in conjunction with the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers.  

The work will be displayed on a dedicated stand at the Interiors show at the NEC in January 22nd to 25th January 2012 and there will be an awards presentation during the show:
Many previous winners have gone on to secure great jobs, work placements and media publicity following the show.

Our Red Shed studio has been fitted with day-lighting to ensure true colour even on the darkest days. All students have a permanent desk space for three years. We work in small groups, provide tutorials and one to one teaching, group seminars and workshop demonstrations.

Knitting, Printing, Dye lab, Printmaking and laser cutting workshops are located on the first (ground) floor of the Red Shed. Metalwork and Jewellery, Furniture, Glass and Ceramics workshops are located 5 minutes walk away in the north and west buildings.

Sophie Carr - Hand and Lock Prize Giving at Penn and Fletcher in NYC

Congratulations to Sophie Carr (Knitted Textiles 2011) winner of the Hand and Lock (first prize) student embroidery competition 2011. Sophie received her award at Penn and Fletcher in New York last week.
